BU is commonly known as Barkatullah University is a university in Bhopal, India. This is originally known as Bhopal University and it was renamed after the great freedom fighter Prof. Barktalluah who was born in that area. This university is the main university in the capital city and it provides degrees to most of the non - technical colleges in and around Bhopal. The university is funded by the state government and also it offers residential campus and also serves as affiliating university for colleges in and around Bhopal.
The university offers both graduate and post graduate courses and moreover, it also provides diplomas, M.Phil, and post-doctoral fellowship to the students.The university leaves no stone unturned to provide qualitative education to its students. In all there 100 academic programs which cover the list mentioned previously of the courses. Not only class room learning is provided by the university board but also there are workshops, learning centers that are organized by the university board.The university has also set up computer centers, library, sports and game fields and many more facilities are provided by the university itself. There are more than one hundred seventy colleges that are affiliated to this university. The university campus is located along Jabalpur-Jaipur National highway at a distance of about 3 kms. Another significant aspect is that of the syllabus that is required for the students to study during the time of examinations. As far as graduate entrance examinations are concerned the syllabus required is of 10+2. In case of engineering examinations, students must have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% of marks and they should have studied physics, chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. In case of medical fields, biology is a compulsory subject along with other main ones. And as far as post graduate entrance examinations are concerned, students are supposed to study the required subjects in which they are appearing for written tests.
These examinations are not a cake walk. Students are supposed to work extremely hard and stay focused when it comes to clearing such examinations. It goes without saying that there are no short cuts to success. Be it at graduate or post graduate levels, the examinations require similar determination and hard work. However, once the application process is completed students are required to collect the admit card from the concerned authorities.
